Encyclopedia : T : TE : TER : TER-GV
TER-GV is a project of a new TGV line in France between Lille and the area of Aulnoye - Maubeuge (Sambre valley). This line would allow to link Lille to Maubeuge in 40 minutes and would be the first regional TGV line in France.
A 28 km section of the line in the south of Valenciennes, the Boucle Ferroviaire, in addition to its transportation role, would also be used as a test facility especially for 300 km/h class High Speed Trains. This test facility is linked to the installation of the European Railway Agency in Valenciennes.
The line could open around 2016.
