TK Maxx
Encyclopedia : T : TK : TKM : TK Maxx
T.K. Maxx is a chain of department stores in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. The company is part of the TJX Companies which also owns other department store companies such as T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, A.J. Wright, HomeGoods, WINNERS, HomeSense and BOB'S Stores. They offer brand name clothing, footwear, bedding, furniture, fine jewelry, beauty products, and housewares.
T.K.Maxx employs a large team of opportunist buyers that scour the world looking for the best deals, they then buy the products in bulk to reduce the price by up to 60%. They take a minimalist approach to their stores to reduce costs.
The first TK Maxx opened in Bristol in 1994. Today, there are currently about 200 stores open.
The name TK Maxx was adopted instead of parent TJ Maxx to avoid confusion with the existing but separate discount chain T.J. Hughes.
