TS-MA2 Moebius

The TS-MA2 Moebius is a mobile armor, a heavy space fighter with tough armour that served as the Earth Alliance's frontline unit prior to and during the first half of the Bloody Valentine War The Moebius is simply armed with a pair of gatling guns and four wire-guided missiles, but it can mount a single linear gun or nuclear missile below the fuselage.

The Moebius is swift and powerful, but it becomes terribly obsolete when the ZGMF-1017 GINN is introduced by ZAFT - as a general rule of thumb, five Moebius mobile armours are required to engage a single GINN on average. Until the introduction of Natural-pilotable mobile suits, the Moebius is the backbone of the Earth Alliance forces, despite its general inadequacy in combat against enemy mobile suits.

The Moebius is phased out of frontline use by late June, CE 71, replaced by the GAT-01 Strike Dagger. In November, at the Second Battle of Jachin Due, several squadrons are launched from the Earth Alliance's Agamemnon-class carriers for use as nuclear weapons delivery platforms. Most of the Moebius units are destroyed during the battle, along with the majority of the Alliance's Strike Dagger forces.

TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero

The TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero is a high-powered mobile armour produced in limited quantities during the Bloody Valentine War. The Moebius Zero is armed with a single linear gun below the fuselage, and four wire-guided 'gunbarrels' - each armed with twin railguns. The gunbarrels can detatch from the main unit to allow a Moebius Zero pilot to attack a target from multiple directions simultaneously.

Because of the difficulty in controlling the Moebius unit and its four gunbarrels all simultaneously, only pilots with a high degrees of spatial awareness, like Mu La Flaga, can use the Moebius Zero effectively. Because of the rarity of this ability, the mass-production TS-MA2 Moebius mobile armour lacked the gunbarrels of the Moebius Zero. despite the similarities in name and in model number, The TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero bears no resemblance whatsoever to the TS-MA2 Moebius.

All of the Moebius Zero units were assembled into a single elite corps attached to the third fleet, but on the 2nd of June C.E. 70, virtually the entire corps was destroyed at the Battle of Endymion Crater. Only then-Lieutenant Mu La Flaga survived, and in fact he used his Moebius Zero to shoot down no less than five ZGMF-1017 GINN's during the battle (for which he gained the nickname "The Hawk of Endymion" and became known as the person "who can make the impossible possible").

The TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero served as the basis for a more advanced design fielded in late CE 73, the TS-MA4F Exass. While similar in design and layout, the much more streamlined Exass features additional weapons on the main unit, and its gunbarrels feature beam guns and beam cutters in place of their twin rail guns. At least two of these units was produced, with one being piloted by Neo Roanoke, and another being piloted by Morgan Chevalier in the manga Gundam SEED Destiny Astray.

AQM/E-X04 Gunbarrel Striker

The AQM/E-X04 Gunbarrel Striker is a Striker Pack intended for the Earth Alliance's mass-production unit, the GAT-01A1 105 Dagger. Based on the TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero and bearing a strong resemblance to it, the Gunbarrel Striker can operate independently or fold in half and be mounted as a Striker Pack. The unit is armed with a gatling gun in place of the linear gun, and improved gunbarrels featuring a beam gun and twin missiles.

Very few Gunbarrel Strikers are produced, with at least two of them used by ace pilot Morgan Chevalier for use with his GAT-01A1 105 Dagger.
