Takeo Doi

Doi Takeo (土居健郎, born in 1920 in Tokyo, Japan) is an eminent Japanese psychoanalyst. Doi Takeo made his influential critique of contemporary Japanese society in the work The Anatomy of Dependence, which focused extensively on the cause and effects of the Japanese cultural behavior, amae.

Doi is a graduate of Tokyo University.
