The Takigawa clan of the Owari province's origins are not truly known. Thanks to Takigawa Kazumasu, the Takigawa greatly rose in prominence during that of the 16th century of the Sengoku Period. Kazumasa was a generally under both Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The Takigawa clan however faded into obscurity after the death of Kazumasa.
