The Tales of Agaria is the project title by the video game developers, Tsunami Productions. Tales of Asgaria will be one of the first MMORPG's to not be limited to just RPG elements, but will also feature elements from genres such as First Person Shooter, Strategy (Real time and Turn based), Racing, etc. It will also be one of the first games to use a Deist system of play, as the game will be created and updated, but players will not know, thus letting players do pretty much whatever they want, and adding a new level of challenge.

Story

Plot

The Tales of Asgaria takes place in the far future where Earth has been destroyed by the Immortals, the higher beings appointed to take care of human society. The Immortals destroyed Earth due to its rising corruption and inevitable collapse. Before destroying Earth they take 2,000 men and 2,000 women and relocate them to the planet known as Asgaria, leaving them there along with a small band of Immortals and Matains to govern them, all while letting them develop their own civilization with little influence by other races. From here the plot can take any path.

Players Ability to Change Storyline

TOA will be one of the first MMORPG games that's storyline can be affected or changed by a single player. This goes back to the fact that the game will be built upon a Deist game system

Features

Races

Tales of Asgaria, a yet to be released MMORPG, has many different races that inhabit its countless worlds. Some are playable, while others are strictly NPC races.

Player Races

Humans

The main race in the game is the humans. This will feature a balance of most skills and will most likely become the most popular race in the game.
Human History
The human history in Tales of Asgaria has the same history as real human history up until about the year 2579, when the Immortals destroyed Earth and took 2,000 men and 2,000 women and relocated them to the planet Asgaria. Here the Humans were released and allowed to create new civilizations on their new planet.

Other Player Races

As this game is still in development, all race have not yet been decided on, therefore cannot be listed.
Current Considered Races
According to the games lead designer Daniel Atticus the following races have been considered to be player races:
  • Goblin
  • Trolls
  • Immortals (For highest players) (Still not for sure)

NPC Races

Immortals (Manzao)

The Immortals are one of the oldest races that exist in Tales of Asgaria. Contrary to their name, the Immortals are not actually immortal. They do exist on a higher plane of existence, and because of this are immune to all diseases and heal incredibly fast. Yet as far as being killed, it is possible, but very hard, as Immortals can take a stab through the heart without dying.
Immortal History
Beginnings
The Immortals started as normal humans living in Ancient Egypt. The story goes that a man from the area of present-day China brought a cane made into the shape of a dragon at the head to the Pharaoh as a peace offering. After accepting the cane, the Pharaoh put his prized possession in the mouth of the dragon, The Jewel of Ra. This jewel had magical powers that’s when in the wrong hands, could cause mass chaos upon the Earth, and after being combined with the cane, became even more powerful. The Pharaoh, who has a power hungry man, realized his new power and began ruling his lands as a dictator, torturing and enslaving everyone under him. A small group of people, the clan of Átt'ís lead by Frì'n, rose up against the Pharaoh and overthrew him. They destroyed the cane and spread it across the Earth, although it was found several thousand years later by Frì'n reincarnation. The rebels were then awarded by the Gods, and were taken away until their time was right to return to Earth.

Return to Earth
In 1914 A.D. Frì'n Átt'ís was reincarnated as Frieden Atticus in London, England, this started the return of the Immortals. After Frieden found all the pieces of the Cane of Ra, the final Immortals were reincarnated, including his son, Garoad, and his wife, Teresa.

Ascension and Relocation
In 2579, the Immortals, acting without permission from the Gods, thus ascending themselves to deities, destroyed Earth and took 4,000 humans to the planet of Asgaria. A few Immortals stayed on Asgaria to watch over the human population, the rest settled on the planet Hapas.

Exploration and Expansion
The Immortal Society was based mainly on the planet of Hapas for several thousand years, but had several outposts on the planet of Asgaria, Öberk, and Theria. Several other planets had been found that had already been settled by the Eternals.

Eternals (Zao Ra)

The Eternals are believed to be the oldest race in the entire universe, even as old as the Gods themselves.

Matians (Matai Zao)

Worlds

Earth (Pal Met Zao)

Earth is the first planet encountered in the game, but is not actually available to play on in the first parts of the game. Earth started as the human and Immortal home world until the Immortals destroyed it after it began to crumble because of corruption. After this Earth is not mentioned again.

Asgaria

Asgaria is the home world of the transplanted humans and, depending on what race the player chooses, will be the first world encountered in the game.

Geography
Asgaria is about 60% covered in water, with the rest being flat lands with 4 major islands(the 3 Guild Islands and the island of Croatia), and 3 major continents(Amun, Agmar, and Tel'Crea).

The Guild Islands are three large islands connected by a series of bridges. These islands deal with the three main fighting styles, Warrior, Archer, and Mage. Each island has its own supply store for its style and has its own unique training facilities.

The Island of Croatia is a holy and sacred island, as it is the place where the Immortals landed when transporting the humans to Asgaria. It is only inhabited by a few monks who live in a small village outside of the walls of the Great Temple of Garoad, where during the day they maintain the statues of Frieden, Garoad, and a statue of an unknown figure, similar in appearance to Frieden and Garoad, but with a much more powerful appearance. This statue is rumored to be of the physical embodiment of the one true God, which goes against most Immortal and Human polytheistic views on religion. Croatia also houses the first station in the Immortal Underground and Railroad, which is also the only above ground station. Croatia is connected to the mainland by a series of man made islands and bridges. This was made by officials in the kingdom of Belchen to try and annex Croatia into the kingdom, so that they could have the religious officials on their side in the Amun Wars.

Agmar is the largest continent but ironically has the lowest population. It is a generally flat land with mountains in the most norther regions. Seeing as the continent is at the top of the planet, it is generally frozen in this area.

The continent of Amun is the second largest continent on Asgaria, and is is physically divided into two regions by the Guin River, which in time became separate political regions, with Belchan to the north and Pilátes to the south. In the southern region is a large plateau with two rivers cutting through meeting at a lake that then turns into a waterfall, pouring into the River Delaz. In the middle of the continent is the Guin River, which physically divides the continent. In the north is an unnamed lake that is fed by two canals leading into the sea. The continent of Amun was once physically connected to the continent of Tel'Crea, but the land bridge was destroyed after the invasion of Tel'Crea by the Knoll.

Tel'Crea is the third largest continent on Asgaria. It is made of two halves, one on the western hemisphere and the other on the eastern. The western side is made up of a desert in the North and a section of mountains at the south. This mountain system continues under the southern cap of the planet into the eastern hemisphere, where the system ends opening into a valley and ending again with a small mountain range in the north. The western part is divided in the middle by a river which empties in a lake at the foot of the mountains. On the eastern part the valley is divided by a river in the center.

History
The history of Asgaria begins with the Immortals landing in present day Croatia, where the humans were taken out of stasis and placed on the island, where they immediately concluded that they had been saved by the Gods and assumed that the Immortals were the Gods, so the humans built a temple on the spot where they had been placed by the Immortals. A few Immortals, including the leader of the Immortals who brought the Humans to Asgaria, Garoad, stayed on the planet to oversee the development of the humans civilization. The Immortals that stayed built their mountain city of Delaz on the plateau in the southern region, where the humans would never be able to access due to the only passage into the plateau being a hidden path in the woods. The first town to be settled in Asgaria was the town of Amun, on the River Delaz in the southern region, close enough for the Immortals to watch but to not be too obvious. After the humans expansion into Tel'Crea, the Immortals began exploring the planet themselves. The first place the Immortals explored was the mountain ranges in south Tel'Crea, where luckily human expansion was impossible due to the high mountains. Here the Immortals found what would later become known as the worst disaster to ever hit the Immortal civilization, the Matain Obelisk.
