Tanglewood is a neighborhood out of Houston, Texas.
Tanglewood is located outside of the 610 Loop and inside Beltway 8 in the Uptown Houston area. Tanglewood was developed in the 1950s by the Tanglewood Corporation. Today the neighborhood is managed by the Tanglewood Homes Association.
Tanglewood's public schools are operated by Houston ISD. Tanglewood is zoned to Briargrove Elementary School (in Briargrove) and Grady Middle School. High school students may choose between Lee, Lamar, and Westside High Schools; most Tanglewood pupils who remain in the public school system go to Lamar. Private schools nearby include St. John's School and The Kinkaid School.
The closest library branch is the Jungman Library of the Houston Public Library.
The closest YMCA to Tanglewood is the Post Oak YMCA.
Tanglewood is in Texas's 7th congressional district [link].
Among its residents are former President of the United States George H. W. Bush and his wife Barbara, although their summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine is better known.
