Taoro

Taoro was one of the nine menceyatos located in today's La Orotava which divided Tenerife in which after the death of great mencey Tinerfe, Taoro became divided. The old kingdom was located in what are now the municipalities of Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava, La Matanza de Acentejo, Los Realejos and Santa Úrsula.

The kingdom included the Orotava Valley.

Bencomo, its mencey during the Spanish conquest of Tenerife, was killed in the Second Battle of Acentejo.
