Tarragona (province)

Tarragona is a province of eastern Spain, in the southern part of the autonomous community of Catalonia. It is bordered by the provinces of Castelló (Spanish: Castellón), Teruel, Zaragoza, Lleida (Spanish: Lérida), Barcelona, and the Mediterranean Sea.
The province's population is 631,156 (2002), of whom about one-fifth live in the capital Tarragona. Some cities and towns in Tarragona province include Constantí, Reus, Falset, El Vendrell, Tortosa, Amposta. See also List of communities in Tarragona and Comarques of Catalonia.
There are Roman Catholic cathedrals at Tarragona and Tortosa.
