Tetrafluoroethylene

Tetrafluoroethylene, or tetrafluoroethene, C2F4, is a compound of carbon and fluorine. It is a derivative of ethylene in which each of the four hydrogen atoms have been replaced with fluorine. Polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene is used to prepare Teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene).
