The Texas Forensic Association (TFA) is an organization meant to provide competition in speech, debate, and drama for all qualified high school Texas students. It is a member of the NFL (National Forensic League) and follows all of its General Rules, with a few additional rules of its own.

Texas Forensic Association provides numerous forensics competitions nearly every weekend in various locations in Texas for the duration of the forensics season, which lasts from the beginning of the school year (early August) until the end of February. The season culminates to the TFA State Tournament in early March. The TFA State Tournament takes place at a different Texas high school each year and lasts approximately 3 days. It is a competition of all Texas Qualified Students, and is a much more difficult tournament than all average qualifcation tournaments due to its qualification process.

Texas Forensic Association is heavily climbing its way to being the largest State Tournament of the National Forensic League. In fact, it's possibly the largest currently. Each year TFA gains well over 1,000 Qualifiers, and more than 10x as much State Pointers. Its huge success makes it one of the most successful organizations in the United States. TFA enjoys all its qualifiers, and always looks forward to a brighter fresher new season.

The Texas Forensic Association offers the following events for qualification to the State Tournament: Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking (FX), Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking (DX), Original Oratory (OO), Humorous Interpretation (HI), Dramatic Interpretation (DI), Duet Acting (DA), Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD), Policy Debate , and Student Congress (Stu-Co). TFA tournaments use the same resolutions as the National Forensic League (NFL) for Lincoln-Douglas Debate and C-X (Policy) Debate.
