-->Texas Lutheran University is an undergraduate, private, coeducational university affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The University was founded in 1891, and currently serves roughly 1,400 students each semester.The university was founded in Brenham, Texas. Since 1912, Texas Lutheran University has been located in Seguin, Texas.
Students at TLU can major in 28 different fields of study. Thirty minors are also available, as well as nine pre-professional programs.
There are currently four social fraternities on campus: Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Tau, Zeta Chi and Sigma Phi Theta. There are also three social sororities: Kappa Pi Gamma, Beta Alpha Sigma, and Delta Alpha Delta. In addition, many service groups also exist on campus.
There are four distinct areas of on campus living, the South Halls, the North Halls, Seguin Hall, and the Apartments.
The athletics department includes baseball, softball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, volleyball, women's cross country, women's track and field, and the future national contender football team. All sports teams compete at the NCAA Division III level and in the American Southwest Conference under their mascot, the Bulldogs.
Noted sportscaster Verne Lundquist is an alumnus.
