The Banner (band)
Encyclopedia : T : TH : THE : The Banner (band)
The Banner is a metalcore band from New Jersey. They have a major influence from horror movies, and the Misfits. They have released three albums since 2001. Their sound is claimed by critics, fans, and occasionally by the band themselves as zombiecore or horror-hardcore. Many of their lyrics are based on horror movies, and almost all of their lyrics stress introspective thinking, insanity, sadness, and romantic tragedy.
They describe themselves on their website (www.thebannernj.com) with: "The songs exhibited both heavy and melodic elements that blend together into unique, energetic hardcore anthems, with Joey providing horror-themed lyrics as metaphors for intensely personal musings."
With their success on their current label, Ferret Records, their former label, Blackout Records, is planning on releasing a shelved project that they produced with The Banner sometime in mid- to late- 2006, title is yet unknown.
