The Chrono Trigger Mixtape, Vol. 1
Encyclopedia : T : TH : THE : The Chrono Trigger Mixtape, Vol. 1
Bed-ridden with the flu, Ali Haeri (of the duo with Stephen Ip, Compromised) chose to follow through with an in-joke among his friends of creating a stereotypical hip hop mixtape. The majority of the album was created in two days by Haeri, and showcased to friends on October 17, 2005, the day prior to its formal release.
After being shown off, the voice of fictional mixtape host "DJ Epoch", whose identity is currently only known by Compromised, was recorded and integrated into the tracks for a more authentic mixtape atmosphere. After adding DJ Epoch's MCing, the final mixtape was released at the album's website on October 18, 2005.
According to Haeri, the "joke" of the album "would be all the annoying flair of a hip-hop mixtape, including (but not limited to) an incredibly annoying host, yelling all over records with a ridiculous delay effect over his voice, terrible song selection, etc."
The next mixtape in Compromised's series is due sometime before 2007. The "DJ Epoch Outro" mentions that Kirby Super Star will provide the instrumentals, though there has been no serious confirmation of the source so far.
