The Cringe is a modern rock band with a sound reminiscent of, at times, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Live. Their first studio album is called "Scratch the Surface." The first single off of the album is "Burn", with a guitar lick reminscent of "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. Their second single, currently on the charts, is called "Been Alone,"[[Citing sources citation needed]] and definitely owes a debt to Nirvana.
Lead singer,John Cusimano, is married to Food Network celebrity Rachael Ray, the band's biggest fan. Other band members are Rob Levin (lead guitar), Matt Powers (bass) of Whether Music and his solo self-named effort, and Shawn Pelton (drums) of the Saturday Night Live band.
