The End Records started as a small underground heavy metal record label in 1998. Its focus was, and remains, on the more avant-garde and original acts in the genre. The scope of the label has now grown from its original heavy metal focus, extending into ambient, rock and other styles, but remains within the darker realms of music.
The company has continually expanded and is now divided into various departments:
- The End Records label (the core of the company)
- Infinite Vinyl Series (specializing in limited manufacturing of collectible and high-quality vinyl pressings)
- Unruly Sounds (fundamentally uncompromising and underground releases)
- Distributed labels for North America (exclusive distribution for a variety of labels)
- The Omega Mail-Order (specializing in retail and wholesale distribution of hundreds of labels worldwide)
Distribution
Distribution is handled through three sources:- The Omega: The End Records' exclusive online webstore
- Red Distribution: Handles North American distribution in stores
- Candlelight Records and their distribution networks: Handles European distribution
