The Formula is a thriller film directed by John G. Avildsen in 1980.

Plot

A detective discovers a formula created by the Nazis during World War II to create gasoline out of synthetic products, eliminating any need for oil or oil companies. The detective's life is endangered when a major oil company sets out to destroy the formula and anyone who knows of its existence.
