The House of Eliott

The House Of Eliott is a British television series about two sisters who start off their tailoring business. The show starred Louise Lombard and Stella Gonet and it ran on BBC One between 1991 and 1994. The series was created by Jean Marsh and Eileen Atkins who had previously devised Upstairs Downstairs.

In series one Evie and Bea run their own business simply called The House Of Eliott. In series two they go to France to learn international costume designs. In series two Bea marries Jack Maddox and they become parents to their daughter Lucy. Meanwhile, Evie has a romantic liaison with artist Daniel Page before they get married.

Trivia

The series was mercilessly lampooned by comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders in a sketch for their TV series entitled "The House Of Idiot".

DVD Release

The House Of Eliott is being made available on DVD (in both the U.K. and the U.S.) through Acorn Media. So far, two of the three series have been released.
