The Jamestown Foundation (founded 1984) is an American think tank whose mission is to inform and educate policy makers about events and trends which are current strategic importance to the United States. Its website states that: "Jamestown’s material is delivered without political bias, filter or agenda." The Jamestown Foundation claims it contributed directly to the spread of democracy and personal freedoms in former communist bloc countries during the 1980's. It acquires its information independently through official or intelligence channels. Currently, its primary focus is on Eurasia and terrorism.
