The Little Review

Encyclopedia : T : TH : THE : The Little Review

The Little Review was an American literary magazine founded by Margaret Caroline Anderson which published modernist American and English writers between 1914 and 1929, most notably James Joyce's Ulysses. The Little Review was one of the first publications to include Dadaist poetry and artwork.

Founded in March of 1914 during Chicago's literary Renaissance, it's goal was to provide a space to showcase art and good talk about art. It was not until 1917 that Margaret Caroline Anderson and Jane Heap, the magazine's co-editor and Anderson's lover, were able to move the publication to New York with the help of Ezra Pound.
