The Mad Show

The Mad Show is a successful off-Broadway musical revue based on Mad Magazine. Its music is by Mary Rodgers, with various lyricists—among them Marshall Barer, Steven Vinaver, and Stephen Sondheim. The original cast included Linda Lavin, Jo Anne Worley, Paul Sand, Richard Libertini, and MacIntyre Dixon. Sam Pottle conducted the music. It opened January 9 1966, at the New Theatre, and ran for 871 performances.
