The Panel (Ireland)
Encyclopedia : T : TH : THE : The Panel (Ireland)
The Panel was a humorous weekly chat show aimed at young people that was aired on Monday evenings on the Irish television network RTÉ Two. It was hosted by Dara Ó Briain and usually recorded in The Helix, DCU. The show, which ran from September 2003 to December 2005, had five panellists which changed from week to week. They discussed current events, interspersed with celebrity interviews (3 per show originally, and then reduced to 2). It was one of RTÉ's most popular shows, and its sudden cancellation annoyed many of the programme's fans [link]. The format was derived from an Australian show of the same name.
The show featured "Waterfall" by The Stone Roses as its theme song.
