The Prehistory of The Far Side: A 10th Anniversary Exhibit (ISBN 0836218515) is a collection of The Far Side strips from 1980 to 1989, published by Andrews and McMeel. The book focuses on work prior to The Far Side (including cartoonist Gary Larson's first strip, Nature's Way), how the strip was started and had evolved, and public response to some of his cartoons (the ones in the book are mostly negative). It also features Larson's self-picked "best cartoons" of the past ten years.
