The Prodigal is a 1955 film starring Lana Turner and based on the Luke New Testament story of the selfish son who leaves his family in search of riches. Directed by Richard Thorpe, and starring Louis Calhern (The Asphalt Jungle, The Magnificent Yankee), Joseph Wiseman (Dr. No) and Cecil Kellaway. Spoofed by MAD Magazine in 1955 as "The Prodigious."
