The Running Jumping & Standing Still Film is a short (14 minute) film directed by Richard Lester and starring Spike Milligan that was released in 1960. It was written by Peter Sellers, along with Graham Stark and David Lodge. It was a strong influence on Lester's later film A Hard Day's Night starring The Beatles.
It was originally filmed over two Sundays in 1959, at a total price of £70 - five pounds of which involved rental of a field for use.
It was nominated for an Academy Award, but did not win. It is available on some copies of the A Hard Day's Night DVD, and featured in The Unknown Peter Sellers.
