The Satellite Party is a rock band/theatrical entity comprising of former Jane's Addiction and Porno For Pyros frontman Perry Farrell, former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Gabriele Corcos. The group made its debut appearance in Los Angeles at The Key Club on July 18, 2005, followed by a performance at Lollapalooza 2005, held in Grant Park in downtown Chicago on July 24, 2005 [link], [link], [link]. Kanal and Corcos have since left the group. Corcos was replaced by Kevin Fig on drums.
An album is due in 2006, with contributions from various artists such as John Frusciante and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, former Chili Pepper Jack Irons and Joy Division/New Order bassist Peter Hook [link]. The group has signed with Columbia Records, which is a part of Sony Records [link], on June 6, 2006.
