- Scarecrow (comics), a villain from the Gotham City of Batman
- The Scarecrow, Doctor Syn's alter ego, in books by author Russell Thorndike
- The Scarecrow (play), a 1908 play by Percy MacKaye, based on Nathaniel Hawthorne's Feathertop. The play was adapted for television in 1972
- The Scarecrow (1982 film), a 1963 novel by New Zealand author Ronald Hugh Morrieson about a killer in a small town. This novel was made into a 1982 film, also from New Zealand, directed by Sam Pillsbury
- The Scarecrow (2000 film), an animated direct-to-video film.
- The Scarecrow (Pink Floyd song), a song by Pink Floyd on their debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
