The Society of London Theatre (previously The Society of West End Theatre) is an umbrella organization for West End theatre in London. They organize the annual Laurence Olivier Awards.
Half-price theatre ticket booths
The Society operates the only official half-price London theatre (theater) ticket booths, in Leicester Square and Canary Wharf DLR Station, from which tickets for a number of theatres can be bought by personal callers only—there is no telephone number—at half-price (plus a modest service charge) from 10:00 to about 18:45 on the day of performance. Full details, and the list of shows for which tickets were available at the start of the day, are on the tkts website.
After the official ticket booth in Leicester Square was set up, a number of other ticket agencies nearby put up large signs calling themselves official half-price ticket sellers, perhaps to attract those who knew that there was a booth in the area, but not its exact location. These are unrelated to the official sites, and should not be relied upon. The official booths have signs with their name, "tkts".
