The Thin Man Goes Home is a 1945 motion picture directed by Richard Thorpe. It is the fifth of the six Thin Man films about Dashiell Hammett's dapper private detective and his wealthy wife.
The film combines the elements of comedy, crime, mystery, and romance.
This edition of the series was released ten years after the first one. It was followed by Song of the Thin Man in 1947.

Plot
Nick and Nora Charles return home to spend time with Nick's family. But Daddy isn't pround of Nick for being a detective instead of becoming a doctor like him. Nora thinks Nick solving a case will get him respect from his Dad. She spreads the word that Nick's out there to solve a case; to stir the skeletons in the closet and create a case. Will a case appear? Will Nick solve it? As people drop dead, there's something about a painting that everyone wants!
