The X-2 Package
Encyclopedia : T : TH : THE : The X-2 Package
The X-2 Package is a television news music package composed by American musician Frank Gari. The package is unique in that it utilizes the extended version of the famous 20th Century Fox fanfare. Several of the cuts have been derived from its predecessor, The X Package.
The package was commissioned in 2000 by WTTG/5 in Washington DC. Until June 2006, it was used on WTTG. Two stations in Florida currently use the package (although one of the two, WOGX in Ocala, is listed as using the package simply by virtue of simulcasting the newscasts on sister station WOFL in Orlando). All three are Fox O&Os.
