They Do It With Mirrors (published in 1952) is a detective fiction novel by Agatha Christie, featuring her detective Miss Marple. It is also a short story (They Do It with Mirrors (Heinlein)), written by Robert A. Heinlein, writing under the pseudonym Simon York in Popular Detective magazine, May 1947.
Plot
When Jane Marple goes to stay with her old, and rather frail, friend Carrie-Louise at her sprawling Victorian Gothic mansion, which is not only a family home but also a rehabilitation centre for delinquent boys, she soon begins to realise that all is not well there. Then an attempt is made on the life of Carrie-Louiseās husband, her step-son is shot to death and someone tries to poison Carrie-Louise herself. When the local police show no signs of solving the case, it is up to Marple to unmask the killer.
Film versions
Adapted as Murder with Mirrors in 1985 for television, and again in 1992 for BBC, starring Joan Hickson.
