This Is Hardcore is an album by British alternative rock band Pulp, first released in March 1998 (see 1998 in music). It came three years after their breakthrough album, Different Class, and was eagerly anticipated. It was less populist and did not live up to the commercial success of the previous album. Nevertheless, it was well received critically and earned a nomination for the 1998 Mercury Prize.
