A threequel is a third in a series. Related to this topic are sequels, prequels, and interquels. Examples of a threequel include "Return of the Jedi," "," "Scream 3", "Robocop III" and "Godfather III," among others. Where as Sequels can often out-perform the first movie (such as ' and '), threequels are rarely considered superior to their predecessors, though in the case of Superman Returns and it is possible.
