Tilt (producers)

Encyclopedia : T : TI : TIL : Tilt (producers)

A UK group of electronic music producers composed of Andy Moor, Mick Parks & Mick Wilson.

Tilt was started in Coventry, England by Mick Parks and Mick Wilson. They became resident DJs at Eclipse, one of the early '90s rave dance clubs. During their time at Eclipse, they met Sasha, who inspired them to produce their own material. In 1993, they met up with John Graham and formed Tilt. Their first big hit came in 1996 with their single "I Dream", released on Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Records. Tilt released several other singles such as "My Spirit", "Places", and "Butterfly", as well as "Rendezvous", which they recorded with Paul van Dyk.

Following this success, they were signed by Red Jerry's Hooj Choons label. On Hooj, they released "Invisible", which became one of the most popular trance records played at clubs. "Invisible" even managed to crack the UK top 20 singles chart. They also produced a remix of Robert Miles' trance track "Children". Additionally, Tilt also released their "Dark Science EP" on Hooj.

John Graham left Tilt in 2002 to pursue a solo production career. Tilt, now a duo, continued to release singles based on the new sound they had been forming. Andy Moor then joined up with Parks and Wilson. They were subsequently signed to release an album called Explorer on the now defunct Hooj Choon's former subsidiary label, Lost Language. Additionally, Tilt has also produced several other singles for Lost Language.
