Tim Holding

Tim Holding is an Australian politician, currently serving as Victorian Minister for Police and Emergency Services and Minister for Corrections.
Tim served on the City of Waverley council from 1992-1994, and graduated in Law at the University of Melbourne. He soon became active in the Australian Labor Party and Young Labor; working as an Electorate Officer to State and Federal Members of Parliament, and later as an assistant Ministerial Adviser.
In 1999, Tim was elected to Victorian State Parliament as the Member for Springvale at the age of 25. In 2002 he was elected the Member for Lyndhurst and appointed Minister for Manufacturing and Exports, and Minister for the Financial Services Industry. In 2005, Tim was promoted to position of Minister for Police and Emergency Services and Minister for Corrections, his current portfolo responsibilities.
Due to his relative youth and prominence, Tim has often been touted as a possible future Victorian Labor leader.
