Timbal

A Timbal is a slightly conical drum of varying sizes usually made of lacquered wood and a tunable synthetic head. The drum is most often found in Bahia, originating in Salvador, Bahia, and is used mainly to play Samba and its variants. The drum was popularized by Carlinhos Brown's group Timbalada.
