The Titan T-51 Mustang is a three-quarter size replica of the P-51 Mustang. It is a two-seat homebuilt aircraft with dual controls and tandem seats, and has remarkable performance given the small size of the engine.

T-51 kitsets are fabricated by Titan Aircraft Company at South Austinburg in the United States and are being assembled and flown in several countries where they are popular with pilots and particularly with spectators at airshows. The aircraft has a wide range of handling abilities, from a stall speed of only 39 mph to high performance up to 190mph and agility afforded by a +6g / -4g load limit capability.

Titan have a long history with building a variety of light sports aircraft and ultralights. Pilots choose whether they want to buy a kitset which is fully complete and ready to assemble, or a basic kitset to which they add their own choices of propellors, engines and instruments. Two versions are available, the homebuilt with retractable gear which must be flown by pilots with retractable gear experience, and the amateur built fixed-landing-gear version which qualifies for the 1200 lb and under weight category in New Zealand and Australia and can be flown by a sport pilot in the US.

The most popular powerplant is the Rotax 912ULS/3 which produces 100 hp but the Rotax 115 hp is also fitted by owners wanting even higher performance. The construction to flying time is about 600 hours and jigs or complicated tools are not required.
