Tokai region

The Tōkai region (東海, literally East Sea) is a subregion of Chubu, Japan along the Pacific Ocean. Tha name comes from Tokaido, one of the Edo Five Routes.
The prefectures consisting the Tokai region are unfixed. From the geographic point of view, they are Shizuoka, Aichi and the southern part of Gifu, but the economic tie between Aichi, Gifu and Mie is considerably strong.
