Tom Edwards is a British radio presenter and television announcer, born in Norwich on March 20, 1945. He began his working life as a journalist, before becoming the announcer on a Border Television programme called Beat the Border. He worked for Radio City and Radio Caroline in the 1960s, and later for BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2, presenting the Saturday morning early show on the latter station for some years in the 1970s and early 1980s. He is probably best remembered as an in-vision announcer for Thames Television for most of the 1980s, also working for ATV and HTV West. In the late 1980s he left Thames and moved to the United States, but soon returned to his home country. After a stint on BBC Radio Norfolk during the 1990s, he now lives in Lincolnshire and has appeared occasionally on Saga 106.6 FM.
