Tooth Fairy Rule

In fiction writing, the Tooth Fairy Rule is a rule of thumb to prevent overreliance on contrived solutions to plot problems. Breifly it states that a mysterious outside force may be invoked to explain the inexplicable only once in a story. Violations of this can lead readers to begin to lose their suspension of disbelief.
