Transformers Classics

Transformers Classics is an upcoming Transformers toyline that is currently scheduled to debut in November 2006 as a present-day update of the Generation One story, with the same basic cast of characters. The toyline is a tribute to the Transformers 20th anniversary, with a focus on the characters released in the 1980s, (hence the "classics" designation), updated to appeal to a modern audience and fans of the original Transformers toys at the same time. This is also the first time since the original Transformers toyline that a Megatron toy's alternate mode will be a gun.
The characters that have so far been confirmed to appears as Classics toys are:
- Optimus Prime
- Megatron
- Bumblebee
- Grimlock
- Cliffjumper
- Jetfire
- Mirage
- Starscream
- Ramjet
- Rodimus (an updated version of Hot Rod)
- Astrotrain
- Kup
