The Treasury Solicitor's Department (TSD) is the largest in-house legal organisation of the United Kingdom Government. It is an executive agency reporting to the Attorney General for England and Wales. TSD employ more than 300 solicitors and barristers to provide advice and legal representation to many government departments.
The Chief Executive of the Treasury Solicitor's Department is Her Majesty's Procurator General and Treasury Solicitor. The current Treasury Solicitor Dame Juliet Wheldon DCB leaves her post in July 2006 after 6 years in the Post.
The Bona Vacantia division of TSD deals with the disposal of abandoned property.
