Pontiac V8 engine with Tripower carb setup

Tri-Power is the name used with reference to the triple two-barrel carburation of the Pontiac V8. This was done using an intake manifold especially designed for three carburators. The center carburator is always active whereas the outer two carbs remain mostly closed until full-throttle conditions are approached.

Many other automobile companies also utilized multiple carburators on their engines. Such companies included Dodge, Ferrari, and many of the other General Motors divisions.
