In some countries and languages using the long scale:

one trilliard = [1\,000\,000\,000\,000\,000\,000\,000 = 10^] = one short scale sextillion.

In the traditional long scale usage of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and Australia, this word is not found, being replaced by "thousand trillion".

In modern English usage, it is replaced by the short scale "sextillion".
