Trinity Catholic Technology College
Encyclopedia : T : TR : TRI : Trinity Catholic Technology College
Trinity Catholic Technology College is a secondary school in Leamington Spa, England. Unlike most Catholic schools, Trinity is well known for its liberal ethos (started by Peter Hastings), where students call teachers by their first names and, until recently, didn't wear uniforms. Some aspects of this liberal attitude have long been unpopular with the School's predominantly conservative Catholic governors, who have recently introduced uniforms to the lower years of the school despite disapproval from parents and teachers. This dress code extends to students in year 8 and below, and may be part of an effort to formalize the college to attract a Catholic pupil demographic.
Until recently the School was on two separate sites: Dormer Hall on Myton Road in Warwick, and Bishop Bright on Guy's Cliff Avenue. However, at the end of 2004, After a multi million pound extension, Trinity moved to a single site at Bishop Bright. The current headmaster is Jim Ferguson.
