Tschüss

Tschüss is an informal German farewell, used in much the same way as "good-bye" in English-speaking countries such as the United States or Great Britain. It is derived from the Low German language (see also Moin), and has historically been more common in northern Germany, though it has gained country-wide acceptance. However, in southern Germany it is more common for the informal farewell ciao or adieu to be used, and the farewell Auf Wiedersehen is considered appropriate in more formal settings.
