Encyclopedia : T : TS : TSU : Tsuchiya Masatsugu
(d.1572) was the second son of Kanamaru Torayoshi. He fought in many battles such as the 4th battle of Kawanakajima. After the death of his lord, Takeda Shingen, in the year of 1573, he contemplated committing suicide, but he carried on with the legacy of the Takeda, after being convinced by Kōsaka Masanobu. Sadly enough, two years later he was shot to death at the Battle of Nagashino.
Masatsugu had three sons. They were all part of the final supporters of the Takeda clan. They all were killed while trying to fend of the Oda forces, at the Battle of Temmokuzan. Their lord Takeda Katsuyori committed suicide.
