Tukkhum

During the 16th and 17th centuries nine tukkhum, composed of separate teipy were formed in Chechnya, the Akkiy, Myalkiy, Nokhchmakhkakhoy, Orstkhoy (Ershtkhoy), Terloy, Chantiy, Cheberloy (Chebarloy), Sharoy, and Shotoy. The Chechen tukkhum was a form of military-economic or military-political union of a group of teip, combined together for joint decsion making or defence from enemy attacks, trade and economic bartering.
