Tunguska (Тунгуска) is a remote, largely uninhabited region in Siberia, Russia. It is known most prominently for what has become known as The Tunguska Event, an enormous meteorite impact event near the Stony (Podkamennaya) Tunguska River in 1908. The event is known as the Siberian Explosion and is considered to some as the biggest natural disaster that man has ever escaped.

The region has rich reserves of natural gas.
