Administrative history

Established as Tupelo National Battlefield SiteFebruary 21, 1929; transferred from the War DepartmentAugust 10, 1933; redesignated and boundary changed August 10, 1961. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1966. Administered by the Natchez Trace Parkway.
